Here are some pictures from Alabama Library Week.  The students had such a great time reading and learning.  Monday was Fox in Socks Day and Mrs. Polwart's first grade class read the story and made their own Fox in Socks puppets.  They also had a great time practicing some cute rhymes and tongue twisters. Tuesday was The Lorax day and the students dressed in orange or green clothing.  I read The Lorax to them and they got to make their own Lorax puppets to take home.

Today, some of our third grade students visited the library.  We learned about how fiction books are organized and how to make a call number for a book.  We checked out books and discussed AR, and then we did my absolute favorite library activity.  We sat down and read wherever and however we wanted to.  Sometimes our classes are filled with activities and lessons, but its most important to guide students to find a love of just sitting down and reading a good book.  That's my favorite part of my job.
